Mom and son ~ We are trying to live up to the tradition of my late Mom and I. There is nothing like it! Ahhh....the memories...I miss you everyday Mom, Miriam Small. You shared and taught me so much. To wander and seek daily adventure ... anywhere Michael and I can go together is meaningful. Even if down the street for a quick latte. This picture was taken among the ruins in Tunisia
When Kaitlin was here for her special weekend! ;-)
Santa Monica, Hollywood, + here, there and everywhere together... oxox
Jared and Kaitlin came for a unique weekend as together we explored Los Angeles and so many places while they were here. Especialy = Discovering new foods and destinations together.
PaPa Dave and all seven grandchildren together!!
Though they somehow are growing so fast....
+ The memory of all time was the slumber party =
when all were here at one time!
The fun and creativity of sharing moments and special times together.
Finally now at age nine, this was Catalina's first time staying alone with us for a weekend.
It was non-stop (maybe tiring for Dave & I) yet something she will long remember.
This picture shows Catalina dressed to the nines for dinner out and the highight of her visit, her first visit to live theatre.
This picture needs no words = it is true JOY!!
Dave and I with Michael at the Country Harvest restaurant in Newbury Park, CA.
How gracious of this restaurant to reach out to a family with a young child of serious health problems. 20% of the night went to honor and support dear four-year-old little Gracie.
Yes, the food there is always consistent, delicious and a friendly staff...
Yet this time it also had an ambiance of people from near and far + of all ages making a difference. When I drove up the streets were filled with cars parked everywhere. When I walked a ways to the restaurant there was a long line and quiet conversation among friends and strangers. All there to support a cause. Dining in and take-out, it was indeed a crowd. Gracie could not attend as she is in Children's Hospital who are doing a job of wonder. When her Grandpa Steve ordered his pot roast they were all sold out. Those though were good words to hear as $1000+ was raised with heartfelt happiness and hope for little Gracie.
Somehow they seem to grow up each and every day...Catch the moments! (Catalina & Ella)
Michael! My son who shares the passion ~ of the world!
Thoughts and such pride to my many students of so many years!! ;-)
To hear from you now brings such great joy.
Individuals following dreams & reaching them and beyond.
You make my day when I hear of your accomplishments, desires, goals and step by step endeavors.
Thank you! This is a wonderful gift.
It is that time of year once again. Dave's body surfiing competitions!
+ The joy of "Papa" to have grandchildren cheering. Just to hear their voices shouting and see them developing a love of the ocean.
This picture was an early 6:30 a.m. surf meet. Ella and Catalina + Alissa and Jacob joined in too.
And the icing on the cake, to hear David Endelman's named called to receive a medal. All a family experience + a happy surfer. ;=)
Mother's Day is a special day...yes!
It is also so very emotional for me personally since the passing of my Mom, my best friend.
WAN - (PEN) the creative author group I so enjoy, planted a rose bush in my yard in Mom's honor. xo Suddenly it is 5 feet tall and blossoming in multi colors. A delight!
Dave spent the evening with my loving mother-in-law, Clare.
I had the joy of an evening with my son, Michael. A highlight!
I just appreciate our warmth and relationship. Every time we get
together is a highlight truly. This time Michael rushed from work and
we then had a relaxing and delicious meal together at a restaurant close by.
We lingered and talked, shared stories and laughed.
This is what Mother's Day is all about. I love it! I LOVE you Michael. ;-)
Speaking to the parents in St. Kitts was meaningful. = We are all the same in so many ways everywhere! I gave them thoughts on parenting and they gave me joy that they came to listen and participate.
I have enjoyed speaking more on parenting recently.
My message continues to always be about ~ Communicating...
