I have learned that in all my life I never expected a shut down like we have endured. There is the hope for the tomorrows.
Find a new show on television, call a friend, read a book, write a note to someone or even just write down your thoughts. Often it is the little things that count. The holidays have come and gone. *Thanksgiving... *Hanukah and Christmas and more *New Years * & Today the last day of January ... Holidays were still = at home. I didn't feel the "winter" of California until I had some gingerbread. Just because. I am sure everyone has a fav or home cooking and/or nostalgia. Happiness- Finally I just made gingerbread. ;-) *** Find your "Special" for you and make your day special! ***
Television gets old - channel after channel Reading brings volumes of knowledge. I am always open to new readings and discovery! Dave and I enjoyed our experience in Cuba. Only when we were to go back and speak and navigate, the U.S. govt cancelled our experience. Ahh...the day will come again! Soooo--- I have just finished reading Chanel Cleeton's 3rd book. Courage and sacrifice ... love stories too ...spanning many generations about Cuba and more. ~ ~ ~ ~
The country seems in turmoil with this and that and everyone's ideas and philosophy. Good to hear and be exposed to as much as possible. I am enjoying The Truth We Hold ~ An American Journey by Kamala Harris I do applaud her energy and dedication to reach others. Also, a graduate of Hasting's Law School, as are my niece, Hillary and brother, Hal. Those fires and floods - "The worst in California history"
We just drove the coast and seeing is believing. The damage and devastation + the scare and loss of those living in the areas. ;-0 My heart goes out to all. My thanks and appreciation to the fire and rescue and all that responded. Not an easy task and how they risked so much too. This picture is of our beautiful California coast. The roads to reach Santa Barbara and beyond were closed for days. Who would think? And ~ THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you seen the movie Marshall? About Thurgood Marshall!
A must at this Martin Luther King time of year. This topic hits home as I had the fortune of an evening with Yolanda King. Susan and Desiree and I shared moments to never forget. Sadly Yolanda King passed, though she told us stories of her daddy and so much. Here I am in the live studio on a cruise ship. I have learned so much about history and the many locations voyages sail to. Women Pirates? Yes - And they actually were the worst.
The Ojai Film Festival is an annual event. We were there for the 2014 Fest. I was fascinated with the process of movie making and all that it involves. The films were unusual, interesting and each unique. I will look at film in a new way with much appreciation for the creativity and more.
