Brother Hal and I - Cherish the years - And family!
Often it is the little things that count. The holidays have come and gone.
*Hanukah and Christmas and more
* & Today the last day of January ...
Holidays were still = at home. I didn't feel the "winter" of California until I had some gingerbread. Just because. I am sure everyone has a fav or home cooking and/or nostalgia. Happiness- Finally I just made gingerbread. ;-)

Reading brings volumes of knowledge.
I am always open to new readings and discovery!
Dave and I enjoyed our experience in Cuba. Only when we were to go back and speak and navigate, the U.S. govt cancelled our experience. Ahh...the day will come again!
Soooo--- I have just finished reading Chanel Cleeton's 3rd book. Courage and sacrifice ... love stories too ...spanning many generations about Cuba and more.

The country seems in turmoil with this and that and everyone's ideas and philosophy. Good to hear and be exposed to as much as possible.
I am enjoying The Truth We Hold ~ An American Journey by Kamala Harris
I do applaud her energy and dedication to reach others. Also, a graduate of Hasting's Law School, as are my niece, Hillary and brother, Hal.
Those fires and floods - "The worst in California history"
We just drove the coast and seeing is believing. The damage and devastation + the scare and loss of those living in the areas. ;-0
My heart goes out to all. My thanks and appreciation to the fire and rescue and all that responded. Not an easy task and how they risked so much too.
This picture is of our beautiful California coast. The roads to reach Santa Barbara and beyond were closed for days. Who would think?
And ~ THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you seen the movie Marshall? About Thurgood Marshall!
A must at this Martin Luther King time of year.
This topic hits home as I had the fortune of an evening with Yolanda King. Susan and Desiree and I shared moments to never forget.
Sadly Yolanda King passed, though she told us stories of her daddy and so much.
Here I am in the live studio on a cruise ship. I have learned so much about history and the many locations voyages sail to. Women Pirates? Yes - And they actually were the worst.
The Ojai Film Festival is an annual event. We were there for the 2014 Fest. I was fascinated with the process of movie making and all that it involves. The films were unusual, interesting and each unique. I will look at film in a new way with much appreciation for the creativity and more.

Exercise it is said is good for all of us.
We all find our own niche or outlet.
Something for our health and body - as well as something to clear our head and days.
We find what is best for each individual.
Funny, I know at zumba and any exercise experience I have been in...we kind of find our comfort place to stand, dance and/or workout.
Zumba for me is a time to stretch, dance, hear the music and feel the rhythm. I admire our teachers and the varied routines that they design, remember and deliver with such flavor and zest. I applaud each of you!
I learned the other day of the loss of a friend of 15 years, Carol Jones. She always had a smile and a sparkle in her eyes. She could not wait for the next zumba class. Sadly last week, the corner she always danced in was unusually vacant. To the shock of us all, she had passed away unexpectedly in the night. I think she did not suffer for a long time, and I hope somehow she knows that we think of her always. Her special corner that was/is hers...We miss you Carol.
It is times like this that we learn as years go by...the importance and meaning of friendship, sharing and caring. xooxxo
When they say - "Go to Alaska" it is true...
First, it is so interesting, scenic and science at the best.
Second, the glaciers are receding daily.
I am always amazed at the difference in the glacier ice and experience.
