I had the opportunity to experience Spitsbergen - 600 just below the North Pole. A place not too many actually get to. Cold!! Fascinating! Reindeer running wild and I looked for a polar bear in this amazing world we all live in.
I have just had a fulfilling experience sharing throughout the summer with audiences on cruise ships.
It does not matter where the ship sails ~ it is the prep time to delve in and share the joy of the world with so many. Thank you for your smiles and conversations. I learn from each of you and this is a true joy.
I have long been fascinated about the Iditarod in Alaska. I have read about this and kept up with the specifics and annual race. It was a "top of my list" to actually have this experience. I rode with the dogs on the path and the thrill was an eye-opener of the plight and endurance. WOW!
With some friends we actually visited the original homestead of the Ramona story. I was so excited as many of us have read Ramona and visited the annual pageant near Hemet. This though was the real homestead and it was as if the walls and history spoke to us! Thank you Sally Hibbits for arranging this experience. I am still thinking about it having now personally walked the path and will re-read Ramona by Helen Hunt Jackson soon.

Far away in the land of c-o-l-d and beauty, I treasure the genuine experience of nature and Scandinavia. Trolls were everywhere and part of the spirit. Special!
Every travel experience seems to be "the best" and then another comes along.
Dave and I tandem spoke as lecturers on a cruise ship sailing throughout the MED. We engaged our audiences and grasp so much back from them and our experiennces. Thank you.
We sailed into Venice, Italy and at the same time, cousin Jeff Allen and Gayle sailed in from Croatia on their sail boat the Lazy Bones.
We finally managed to be in the same place at the same time! We walked the bridgess of the Canals of Venice and met Jeff & Gayle for a family lunch. We shared stories and adventures. Wonder where we might meet up next time?
Global dining through AAUW has been a delicious and enriching group
this entire past year. Together we have visited countries without
ever needing a passport. Each dining host has been exceptional.
Yes, specially prepared meals! And, even more, such heartfelt explanations
about places, culture and a better understanding/appr of so much.
This week we concluded our year with a tasty and exciting
visit to Gino's Tratoria in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Amazing what we can share and experience! Salvador, Vietnam, India,
UK, South America, Mexico, Italy, and more.
A taste of the world and experiences!
