Every travel experience seems to be "the best" and then another comes along. Dave and I tandem spoke as lecturers on a cruise ship sailing throughout the MED. We engaged our audiences and grasp so much back from them and our experiennces. Thank you. We sailed into Venice, Italy and at the same time, cousin Jeff Allen and Gayle sailed in from Croatia on their sail boat the Lazy Bones. We finally managed to be in the same place at the same time! We walked the bridgess of the Canals of Venice and met Jeff & Gayle for a family lunch. We shared stories and adventures. Wonder where we might meet up next time? xoxo Global dining through AAUW has been a delicious and enriching group
this entire past year. Together we have visited countries without ever needing a passport. Each dining host has been exceptional. Yes, specially prepared meals! And, even more, such heartfelt explanations about places, culture and a better understanding/appr of so much. This week we concluded our year with a tasty and exciting visit to Gino's Tratoria in Thousand Oaks, CA. Amazing what we can share and experience! Salvador, Vietnam, India, UK, South America, Mexico, Italy, and more. A taste of the world and experiences! Curious Enjoying Exploring Appreciating Celebrating I want to see and understand so much. Everywhere is truly an exploration ~ around the corner or in our own backyard. I took this picture in stunning Sedona. I have friends going there this week for a first time. I am excited for destinations wherever we may wander. People laugh when I say I love...everywhere I have been...and.... it is true. Everywhere is unique and special ~ just like us~ This day Dave and I walked among 400,000 peguins. (First though, just to get there, we went with a local for two bumpy hours in a jeep over rugged turf) The penguins do not stop nor mind observers. They frolic and swim and scurry. It is something one cannot truly express in words. They are darling, busy, amazin, unique and more. Another world! These penguins as you can see were so curious watching us. One waddled in
front of Dave and we had to wait as penguins do have the right of way! Sharing my life changing experience!! It was when Ping and I shared with an audience of over 30,000 at a festival in China in 2004. The photo is of when I stepped into that crowd and exchanged hats with a young man - thousands cheered and to me it was so what life is all about: Learning about other cultures and the exchange of understanding and caring. The red hat - my prized possession of a true highlight in my life! I am in the beginnings of a gourmet group. Connect with me if you want to participate. Each month we will experience a different country and/or part of the world.
El Salvador is the first! The hostess will explain about her country and the traditions. Next is a feast of traditional foods and comaraderie of the participants. Many of us are looking forward to this. Yum & fun! |
