Broadway and the theatre = opens our eyes to makes us think.
Most shows I have seen over the years as well as listened to the musical scores and read the book. Recently Avenue Q was a show to delve into. Interesting...and the talent, music, colors, puppets.... And, this week, just close at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Theatre, we returned to see Pippin. This is a show I have not seen and all I knew was Pippin was searching to find himself. The show left the audience thinking and ... we are all always searching. This week I will present to the "Friendship Connection."
I look forward to sharing feel good and motivational thoughts to all attending. There us always so much to learn and to appreciate.
I have been carrying lollipops everywhere I go. They represent people and the world. (All different places, shapes, sizes, colors and tastes.) I was given this quote so many years ago. When you read the words, you will understand the beauty of lollipops and people everywhere: LOLLIPOPS "The old wise man said, “People are like LOLLIPOPS.” LOLLIPOPS come in all different sizes and people come in all different sizes…..Tall Medium Short LOLLIPOPS come in all different shapes and people come in all different shapes too. LOLLIPOPS come in many different colors and people come in many different colors, too. LOLLIPOPS come from different places and people come from different places, too. LOLLIPOPS come in different wrappers- plain and fancy-…..and people come in different wrappers---clothes, too. So in spite of all the different sizes, shapes, colors, places, wrappers…..all LOLLIPOPS are just LOLLIPOPS. And all people are just people." By Ann Larris This week I will speak at the AAUW annual gathering at the Hyatt in Westlake, California. This organization is a celebration of women and all that we can do.
The possibilities are endless helping women to further their education and interests. AAUW helps women with so many issues and needs. If you are not a member, consider stepping in. The comaraderie and experiences are meaningful and enriching. I just returned from San Diego where Dave attended the ESRI convention,
an annual gathering of 15,000 Geographic Information Systems specialists from all over the world. I look forward to this every year. Observing in the Map Gallery and noticing nametags and accents of those around me, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Spain and more, is fascinating. I have discovered that maps are more than just a "map" - the possibilities and information are unique, amazing, and infinite. + Always updating with new ideas and data, and moving forward to the future. Last night I was fortunate to catch a group on television that was astounding:
The Silhouettes' Tribute to America on 'America's Got Talent' Google this group of forty + students 9 - 18 who have created a salute to creativity and collaboration. I can only think of the work that went into this with so many young participants to be in the right place at the right time. The dance, movement, spirit and innovation are a salute to youth everywhere. They can do it! Congratulations Seniors!!!
It is so very fulfilling to hear from high school seniors who walk the walk this week to receive their diplomas. I am so proud of each of you. It is rewarding to see you accomplish so much and to continue to reach for your goals and dreams. Only question - how can my little "Cuties" be graduating already? CONGRATULATIONS>>>;-) |
